National Communication Association Dissertation Award Winner

Dr. Uchenna Onuzulike

Congratulations Dr. Uchenna Onuzulike. Howard University Graduate School congratulates May 2014 Ph.D. alumnus Uchenna Onuzulike, dissertation advisee of Dr. Barbara B. Hines,

Professor Emeritus and Founding Chair of the Mass Communication and Media Studies Department.

Dr. Onuzulike won the outstanding dissertation award from the National Communication Association's African American Communication and Culture Division.

He will receive his award on November. 22, 2014 in Chicago at the 100th anniversary convention.

His dissertation committee included Dr. Melbourne Cummings, Dr. Alem Hailu, and Dr. Chuka Onwumechili.

The dissertation title is"Ethnic and Transnational Identities in the Diaspora: A Phenomenological Study of Second-Generation Igbo-American Young Adults."
