Preparing Future Faculty Program Holds End-of-Year Celebration

The Preparing Future Faculty Program held its annual end-of-the year celebration in honor of PFF Fellows receiving their doctorates and the PFF certificate on April 22, 2016.

During the program, Dr. Cherie A. Ward, adjunct professor, University of the District of Columbia, presented her research on "Using Poetry as a Communication Multimodality to Encourage Reading Engagement for Selected African-American Learners: A Case Study." Dr. Ward has won several awards in her discipline.

Tariq Zidan, doctoral candidate, School of Social, presented his research on "Attitudes of Arab Americans toward persons with developmental disabilities: A national study." Zidan completed a PFF internship at James Madison University and a teaching fellowship at Smith College. He has been appointed to a tenure track position at Indiana University.
