William Spriggs, Ph.D. Receives Robert M. Ball Award
Bill Spriggs, the Chief Economist of the AFL-CIO and former Chairman of the Department of Economics at Howard, recently received the Robert M. Ball Award from the National Academy of Social Insurance. The annual award given to an economist or social Scientist for outstanding achievement in social insurance (social security, unemployment, etc.) The event was held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC and was attended by Dean Bernard Mair, College of Arts and Sciences, and Charles Betsey, former Interim Dean, Graduate School and former chair, Department of Economics, and Congressman Elijah Cummings, Howard alumnus.
