Research Week 2017

More than 550 faculty, students, and postdocs from Howard's 13 schools and colleges presented their research at the research symposium on April 13, 2017. The symposium, which was a part of Research Week, April 10-14, 2017, was held in the Armour J. Blackburn Center. More than 40 research symposium winners were announced, with the HU ADVANCE-IT team honoring Dr. Fatimah Jackson, a professor in the Department of Biology, with the 2017 Women in STEM Researcher of the Year.

The activities of this year's Research Week were supported by the National Science Foundation's HU ADVANCE-IT, Georgetown-Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translation Science (GHUCCTS), and Liberal Arts Diversity Officers (LADO). LADO also hosted an event on Friday that provided an opportunity for Ph.D. students and recent graduates to explore faculty career opportunities at some of the nation's most prestigious liberal arts colleges.
